Clients

We support businesses, educational and research institutions, public sector organizations, and scientists and students in their work, especially with respect to issues around gender, the economy, and academia.

Corporate

Companies must prioritize the retention and motivation of their top talent. In today's diverse workplace landscape, this entails a thorough examination of diversity and inclusion practices within the organization. Are all employees truly valued and empowered? Do they have equitable opportunities to fulfill their potential? Are they being paid fairly?

Individuals from traditionally marginalized groups – such as women, people of color, the LGBTQI+ community, and individuals with disabilities – possess invaluable skills and perspectives that can greatly benefit their organizations. However, are they being provided with the platforms and opportunities to contribute effectively?

We collaborate with companies to identify and address any systemic gaps that may hinder the utilization of diverse talents and insights within their workforce. Through a blend of quantitative analysis, including assessing pay disparities and analyzing representation at various levels, and qualitative methods, such as interviews and focus groups, we can pinpoint areas of improvement to help foster a thriving and inclusive workplace environment.

We specialize in the calculation of gender pay gaps in accordance with the EU directive on pay transparency.

Educational and Research Institutions

We offer trainings designed specifically for academics to help sharpen their skills and give them the cutting edge in areas such as

  • brainstorming and writing research funding proposals
  • holding excellent presentations
  • managing leadership in research teams
  • excellent and innovative teaching
  • networking in academia.

We further support research and educational institutions, such as universities, with consulting focused on the topic of gender equality and equality of opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.

Moreover, we offer direct consulting to research teams. A particular and unique area of expertise is addressing the gender-relevant aspects of a research proposal. Research Service Centers can connect us with their researchers to help them understand and articulate the gender-specific aspects of their proposals.

Our unique GenderLens workshop teaches participants why and how to integrate gender into research from the beginning - download the flyer here.

Public sector institutions

All organizations are confronted with questions around gender equality and equality of opportunity. Public sector institutions have a particular responsibility around these issues, as role models for the rest of society.

We help public-sector institutions understand the diversity landscape of their own organization, and identify places in which some alterations could lead to a more equal, inclusive, and thus successful workplace. We work quantitatively and qualitatively to map out a route to positive development.

We also offer keynotes and trainings to leadership and teams about equal pay, fair pay, and diversity and inclusion.

Scientists

Having a great idea and the skills and team to pursue it is far from the all that is needed to have a great research project. We work with individual researchers and research teams at all stages of the research process. Our expertise can help you address the following issues:

Writing Grant Proposals

  • Articulating research questions and the innovative nature of the research idea
  • Creating clear, convincing research proposals for third party funders
  • Understanding and addressing – indeed, benefitting from – the part of the research proposal that addresses the gender-specific aspects of your research. Yes, there are some, and they matter!

Recruiting and Retaining Team Members

  • Finding the right team members
  • Creating effective work processes to get the best research output
  • Building a work environment that keeps the best researchers wanting to work on your team

Networking

  • Get your work and your name out there to get invited to give research seminars, find out about job opportunities, and connect with the right co-authors.

Students (Bachelor, Master)

There are so many challenging aspects of life as a student. Personal coaching is one of the best tools to help figure it all out. We have helped many students of all levels find their way – teaching hundreds of students in classes; advising scores of theses; and mentoring dozens of student employees.

We can help you find structure to prepare for your exams; find the motivation to finish (or start!) your seminar papers or thesis; and help you navigate questions around which job or degree program to apply for next.

Doctoral students (Ph.D.)

We help Ph.D. students with various aspects of the doctoral phase of their lives. Some of the issues that we can help you with are:

  • Finding a research topic
  • Balancing teaching and research
  • Staying motivated with research
  • Conflict with your supervisor(s)
  • Giving presentations
  • Networking
  • Establishing a research profile
  • Applying for jobs
  • and much more

Post-Docs and beyond

Many people are surprised to find that as they climb the career ladder in academia, many things get harder, not easier. The post-doc phase is particularly challenging, as it is important to use this time to establish a research profile, to produce a lot of output, to network, and to balance personal and work life. We help post-docs work through these issues and more.
